The Making
Seasoned hands. Generations-old looms. And a surprising material.
In a weaving community in India, on looms that have been running for generations, artisans wash, cut, and weave reclaimed plastic by hand, unhurriedly and with care. The result is a fabric that surprises. It is soft, structured, and tactile in a way that is difficult to reconcile with its origin, until you feel it.
Each bag and accessory tailored from this fabric is unique from the next. No two pieces are identical as they carry the slight variations that are inseparable from hand production: in colour, in texture, in the weave itself. The making of each Théla product is special.
